Troubleshoot license activation

Fix common issues when activating a Banaslap Studio license on your WordPress website.

Troubleshoot license activation

This guide helps you fix common issues when activating a Banaslap Studio license on your WordPress website.

Your license connects your WordPress site to your Banaslap account and controls your plan, subscription status, site activation, plugin updates, and available features.

Common activation issues

License activation can fail for several reasons.

The most common causes are:

  • incorrect license key;
  • inactive subscription;
  • failed payment;
  • license already activated on another site;
  • WordPress site cannot contact the Banaslap API;
  • server blocks outbound HTTPS requests;
  • SSL issue on the WordPress site;
  • temporary API or network problem.

Start with the simplest checks before changing technical settings.

Step 1: Check the license key

Make sure the license key was copied correctly from your Banaslap account.

Common mistakes include:

  • missing characters;
  • extra spaces before or after the key;
  • copying the wrong license;
  • using an old or inactive license key.

Copy the key again from your Banaslap account and paste it into the Banaslap Studio license screen.

Step 2: Check your subscription status

Your license remains active while your subscription is active.

If a payment fails, your license may become inactive or restricted until the payment issue is resolved.

Check your Banaslap account and make sure:

  • your subscription is active;
  • your payment method is valid;
  • there is no failed invoice;
  • the plan has not been cancelled;
  • the account is using the correct email address.

If the payment was recently updated, wait a few minutes and refresh the license status inside Banaslap Studio.

Step 3: Check the site activation limit

Each Banaslap Studio license is limited to one WordPress site.

If the license was already activated on another site, activation may fail on the new site.

This can happen if:

  • you moved your website;
  • you changed domain;
  • you activated the license on a staging site;
  • you installed the plugin on a test site first.

If you need to move your license to another site, deactivate it from the old site first or contact support.

Step 4: Check your WordPress URL

Make sure the site URL is correct in WordPress.

In your WordPress dashboard, check:

  • WordPress Address URL;
  • Site Address URL;
  • HTTPS configuration;
  • domain spelling.

If your site recently moved from staging to production, the old URL may still be connected to the license.

Step 5: Check HTTPS

Your WordPress site should use HTTPS.

License activation may fail if your site has:

  • invalid SSL certificate;
  • mixed HTTP and HTTPS configuration;
  • expired SSL certificate;
  • forced redirects that break API calls.

Open your website in a browser and confirm that it loads correctly with `https://`.

Step 6: Check API connectivity

Banaslap Studio needs to communicate with the Banaslap API.

If your server blocks outbound requests, the license screen may not be able to verify your license.

This can happen because of:

  • firewall rules;
  • hosting restrictions;
  • security plugins;
  • blocked REST requests;
  • server configuration issues.

If you use a security plugin, temporarily check whether it blocks outgoing API requests from WordPress.

Step 7: Refresh the license

After fixing the issue, return to the Banaslap Studio license screen.

Click the refresh or activation button again.

The plugin should re-check your license status, subscription, site activation, and plan capabilities.

Starter and Pro license status

Both Starter and Pro require an active license.

Starter includes:

  • full Banaslap Studio store features;
  • basic analytics;
  • 10% Banaslap commission on beat sales;
  • 10% Banaslap commission on membership sales.

Pro includes:

  • full Banaslap Studio store features;
  • advanced analytics;
  • 0% Banaslap commission on beat sales;
  • 0% Banaslap commission on membership sales;
  • 1% service fee per successful transaction, excluding Stripe processing fees.

If your plan recently changed, refresh the license inside Banaslap Studio.

When to contact support

Contact support if:

  • your license key is correct but activation still fails;
  • your subscription is active but the plugin says inactive;
  • your site activation is blocked;
  • the license is connected to the wrong domain;
  • your hosting provider blocks API communication;
  • the issue continues after refreshing the license.

When contacting support, include:

  • your Banaslap account email;
  • your WordPress site URL;
  • your license plan;
  • a short description of the issue;
  • any error message shown by Banaslap Studio.

Do not send your password, Stripe secret keys, or private server credentials.
